Wildfire Property Tax Relief:

Attention Sonoma & Napa County home owners that sustained partial or total damage of their homes. Both counties are prepared to help reduce the current tax assessment on your property as a result of the recent northern California wildfires. Please check out the information below to see if you can save money.

Sonoma County Assessor’s Post on the Calamity Provision:

If a calamity such as fire, flood or earthquake damages or destroys your property, you can apply for reassessment on the improvement values. 

California's property tax laws allow the Assessor to adjust assessed values after destruction of real or personal property caused by a calamity or misfortune.

Napa County Calamity Reassessment Relief & Tax Deferral Program:

Property owners impacted by the 2017 Napa Fire Complex are eligible for a temporary reduction of their Proposition 13 base year value and deferral of the first installment of their 2017-2018 property tax bill.
